The TD's best friend and worst enemy - sketch up. Sketch up is far from essential, but it can be a great tool throughout the design process to visualise the set, try out different ideas and run them past the set designer / director. Once designed you can automatically make a cut-list, get the cost of your design, and use it as a reference when building.
Sketchup has recently depreciated support for Sketchup make 2017 - upon which the ADC models are based. Sketchup is already downloaded on the computers in the prod office however. The installer is available on the CUADC public drive here, and the blank ADC file is available in the Cambridge Theatre Technical resource available here.
