The forestage is the portion of the ADC stage in front of the safety curtain. It is made up of modular sections which can be removed, set at different heights or replaced with custom sections, but its standard position is level with the main stage so that it appears to be part of the same surface.
Stepped forestage
Wooden stepped sections are available in the museum which can be placed on top of a fully lowered forestage to turn it into a stepped forestage. An example of this can be seen in a photo from Return to the Forbidden Planet.
