A Tour Show is a show which goes on a tour around multiple venues in multiple locations. Due to the timeframe and travel requirements of a tour show, these shows usually take place in a vacation. Many of these shows start or end their tour with a 'home run' of shows in Cambridge.

Cambridge's theatre scene is punctuated by several frequently occurring touring shows, which usually take place abroad. Recent recurring tour shows have been:

- The Cambridge University European Theatre Group, or 'CUETG', which tours a Shakespeare play around Europe each year (usually in Winter);

- The Cambridge American Stage Tour, or 'CAST', which tours a Shakespeare play around the United States each year (usually in Summer);

- The Pembroke Players Japan Tour, or 'PPJT', which tours a Shakespeare play around Japan each year (usually in Summer); and

- The Footlights International Tour Show, which plays in Cambridge, Edinburgh, and in the United States each Summer.
