The 'ETC Gio@5' (Gio for short) is a lighting console which is used to programme and control theatre lights in the ADC. It is manufactured by ETC and runs using EOS software - your favourite lighting friend and colleague. The console controls the lighting rig via sACN through an ethernet cable. It is a tracking console that stores lighting states in cues - more information can be found in the ADC introductory lighting guide on cues, commands, tracking etc

During the get-in and technical rehearsal the Gio is usually moved to the centre of the auditorium (on the plot desk) to give a an audience-eye view and to make it more convenient to access or communicate with the stage if troubleshooting is required.

The ADC does also have a back up lighting desk, an ETCnomad Puck, which should be switched on during shows but doesn't require any additional set-up and is connected to the lighting network. There is also a nomad Puck in the Stage Manager desk allowing the DSM to control lights if necessary.
